Ian's Coffee Cup

These interesting biospheres in a coffee cup are often found in surprising places around the site. While this is not technically a fossil it is of great scientific interest. This fine example contains numerous examples of the fascinating flora and fauna that appear in an abandoned cup of coffee, particular a "double double" as prepared by Mr. Juby.  As you can see we have representatives from all kingdoms and numerous phyla - Zygomycota, Mandibulata, Bryozoa, Mollusca, Diatoms, Cyanobacteria, Craniata, Hepatophyta, Crustacea etc. The robust liverwort is a particularly fine sample of that species.
